Our Community

Meet our community of art therapists, therapists and art instructors. We all offer healing and growth opportunities through art.
Lindsey Nieswiadomy (she/her) Art Therapist/Counselor
Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. She attended school at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM, earning a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling. While there, she pursued additional training in grief, loss and trauma. Lindsey has experience working with clients of all ages in a variety of environments, including school settings, behavioral health hospitals, non-profit counseling centers and private practice. She loves creating art, helping others, and being outdoors. Getting to spend time with family and friends is key in her personal growth. Lindsey enjoys supporting clients and helping them build strong connections with realistic goal setting. When meeting with clients, she takes a holistic approach in order to meet each individual client where they are. Insurances taken: Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, UnitedHealthcare

Myriam Reynolds (she/her/ella) Art Therapist/Counselor
Myriam is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. She received her BFA from University of North Texas and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Myriam has worked in the mental health field since 1996 in residential treatment, juvenile justice diversion, college counseling and private practice. Her clinical interests include creative expression of emotions, ADHD management, anxiety, performance issues, college counseling, Imposter Syndrome and trauma. Kara Spencer (she/her) Play Therapist
Kara is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development and later completed her Master’s degree in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman's University. Her training focused on working with children, teens, and families, with an emphasis on trauma-informed care and child-centered play therapy. Kara is supervised by Michelle Fox, LPC-S, RPT-S.
Kara has experience supporting children and families in private practice and inpatient behavioral health settings. Prior to becoming a counselor, she worked for several years as a nanny and special needs caregiver, experiences that continue to shape her practical, family-centered approach.
Kara enjoys helping children, teens, and parents navigate anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism, and life transitions. She takes a developmentally informed, collaborative approach to create a safe and supportive space for growth. Insurances taken: Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, BCBS, Medicare/Medicaid

Christine Niblo (she/her) Art Instructor
Christine is a certified Montessori teacher with over 15 years of experience in education. She brings a gentle, hands-on, and friendly approach to art, helping students of all ages explore creativity as a path to self-expression and wellness. Her deep connection with art began as a young child and she studied it formally throughout her schooling, including college. Christine has experience in a variety of mediums, and is passionate about bringing the joy of art to our community!

Bedarra Pope (she/her) Art Facilitator
Bedarra is an art educator with over 20 years of experience in childcare and education. She earned her BFA in Visual Art Studies from the University of North Texas in 2010. From 2014-2025, Bedarra worked at The Koan School in Denton, TX teaching art, Spanish, wilderness skills, and core academic classes to all ages of students. Bedarra has also run workshops and taught private art lessons to children and adults. She has experience working with individuals with a variety of special needs and abilities. In her personal life, Bedarra focuses on her family, her art, and her menagerie of animals. She enjoys painting, weaving, sewing, macrame, and ceramics. Aside from all the crafts, she’s fond of delicious food, gorgeous views, and dreaming of a cleaner, kinder future for all of humanity. She sit currently offering private and group art lessons and a series of craft workshops through Healing Arts beginning in Fall 2026. Sam Williamson (he/him) Workshop Facilitator
Sam is a Denton native, artist, educator, and PhD student/staff at the University of North Texas. Sam also co-founded Kinful, a virtual reality integrated social skills curricular program. After earning his BFA from the University of Texas, he served in the US Peace Corps, training teachers in Kiribati and directing a mentoring center in Mauritania. He later completed his MA in Innovation Studies at UNT and now focuses his doctoral work on creativity as an innate teachable skill, not a lucky trait. Through his work, Sam designs learning experiences that support growth, agency, and imagination. Today, he lives just down the street from his childhood home with his wife Chelsey, their daughter Amelia, and a house full of pets.
